New objects observed: NGC 6229, NGC 6633, NGC 6934, NGC 7006
Previously viewed objects: Messier 13, NGC 6207
An unexpectedly good night. It was clear, but the area around Mt. Rainier was looking quite hazy on the bottom, and the other mountains were hard to see through the haze. I went out to see how the sky looked around midnight, though, and it looked pretty good, so I set up and knocked a few objects off the Herschel 400 list along with observing M13 once again (which is always pretty striking). Unfortunately, some relatively high clouds decided to come in cutting my night short. Of course, at this time of year it gets dark so late, and starts getting light so early, I wasn’t going to have tons of observing time anyway. NGC 6207 gets a special note, because I was only just barely able to see it with averted vision. It’s a pretty tough type of object though; I’m a bit surprised I was able to see it from my house at all.
